Overview of Renewable Energy web map
The Environment Agency (KAUR) has prepared a web map for renewable energy areas in cooperation with the Land and Spatial Development Board. The map displays the spatial shapes and data of areas suitable for wind energy development, found as a result of the analysis conducted by KAUR. In the case of suitable areas, the implementation of mitigation measures and/or conducting additional studies must be taken into account. More detailed information about the areas can be found in the technical report (in estonian). The map also displays as a separate layer the areas planned for renewable energy development in local government plans, on which state land is located. The renewable energy areas planned by local governments are displayed on the map layer when the state asset manager organizes an auction for the use of state land remaining in these areas.
The KAUR mapped data displayed on the web map is managed by KAUR. The information on the renewable energy areas planned by the municipality comes from plans initiated by the municipality or other documents.
The web map allows you to get a visual overview of the various renewable energy areas that are being put up for public auction. It is an informative tool for all interested parties.
Renewable energy areas have been mapped with the aim of directing them to use for the construction of renewable energy, especially wind energy production units. State land is directed to use for this purpose through an auction organized by the state asset manager. The web map also allows you to see which institution is the administrator and authorized institution of the state land remaining in the area. Information on the conditions for participating in the auction and the right of superficies is published on the websites of the institutions authorized to manage state assets.
