Description of the investor view in the industrial area map application
The purpose of the investor view of the Estonian industrial area map application is to enable companies and investors to easily find an industrial area that meets their requirements in Estonia that has been developed or is being developed for industrial and manufacturing purposes. The application’s industrial areas’ filtering criteria include various spatial dimensions of the areas—total area of the industrial area, distance to Tallinn international airport or the nearest cargo port, state road, cargo railway station, or electrical substation. Searches can be conducted either across all of Estonia or within selected counties.
The search results display the name, location, and area of sites that meet the selected criteria. The filtered sites can be viewed on a map along with detailed information about the industrial area. Additionally, contact details of the relevant regional business consultant at the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency are provided, happy to share more detailed information about the industrial area.
Additional map layers provide information on airports, cargo ports, cargo railway stations, the Rail Baltica railway under construction, and the railway and road networks. The administrative division and the locations of educational institutions are also displayed. This information helps to assess how the conditions of a specific location support business development. The X-GIS icon directs users to the Estonian Land and Spatial Development Board’s more comprehensive industrial area map application, where further spatial data is available that supports choosing a suitable location for a specific business.
The map application has been prepared in cooperation between the Estonian Land and Spatial Development Board, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, Estonian Business and Innovation Agency, county development centres.
Data on industrial areas is updated in the app by county development centres.
