Overview of Hunting web map
The hunting web map, developed in cooperation with the Environmental Board and the Land and Spatial Development Board, displays map layers necessary for observing hunting restrictions, such as the boundaries of hunting areas, wolf control areas, areas where the use of lead shotguns is prohibited, and movement restrictions and no-go areas in nature reserves.
More important and newer is the lead shotgun prohibition area map, which shows water bodies and wetlands with a 100-meter buffer zone where the use and carrying of lead shotguns is prohibited during hunting. The restriction is based on European Union Commission Regulation No. 2021/57, which will enter into force on 15.02.2023, which defines wetlands as all natural or artificial, permanent or temporary areas of marsh, fen, peatland or water with stagnant or flowing, fresh, brackish or salt water, including marine water areas, the depth of which at low tide does not exceed six meters.
