Overview of hogweed colonies web map

The map application, developed in cooperation between the Environmental Board and the Land and Spatial Development Board, displays the work of controlling hogweed colonies.

Control of hogweed has been carried out since 2005 and was based on the "Long-term control strategy for 2005-2010 based on the distribution data of hogweed (Heracleum) alien species". On this basis, a "Control plan for hogweed (Heracleum) alien species" was prepared, which the Minister of the Environment approved on 11 February 2010 and which was the basis for requesting funds from the European Regional Development Fund in 2010. The control plan provides an overview of the biology, distribution and various control methods of the species.

On 1 February, the Minister of the Environment approved a new control plan (2011-2015). Similar to the previous control plan, it provides an overview of the biology, distribution, various control methods and results to date of hogweed alien species.
