Overview of CountriesideGIS web map

The CountriesideGIS map application is a collection of map layers and basemaps that could be helpful in planning or assessing sustainable land use and consumption of eco-benefits. The map application contains practical information primarily for beekeepers and farmers. In a form that provides a quick overview, it is possible to obtain information on growing crops (PRIA), near-natural open communities (KAUR, EELIS), and the nature of forests and the changes that have occurred there (LiDAR and KAUR forest register of the Land and Spatial Board). To understand the nature of the landscape and understand environmental conditions, the map application's basemap layers include soil maps, historical maps, photo maps, aerial photos, and also the latest Sentinel 2 satellite images (ESThub, Satiladu) with false-color derivatives.

The map application was prepared in cooperation between the Land and Spatial Development Board and the University of Tartu (project EFFECT, PRG1223) and adapted based on the comments of several beekeepers and farmers.
