Overview of Local Tradition web map
The Local Tradition Web Map opens up archive texts, photos, videos and audio tracks about places and landscapes. The application is a constantly developing environment, with new tracks added over time from all over Estonia. So far, the Local Tradition Web Map has published materials from national park memory landscape projects, texts, audio tracks and photos from the Urvaste parish, texts and photos from the Rõuge parish, texts and audio tracks from the Hageri parish, place names and video recordings from the Ruila region. Along with texts and photos and audio and video tracks, it is possible to combine various data layers important for studying local history on the map: cultural monuments, nature conservation sites, heritage cultural sites, cross trees, historical administrative divisions, historical base maps, cadastral maps, various place name layers. The application was created by the Local History Working Group of the Estonian Folklore Archive of the Estonian Literary Museum in cooperation with the Land and Spatial Development Board and the Environmental Board. Contributions from communities and researchers are also welcome to the Local Tradion web map.
