Current status of the Geological Base Map
As of 1 December 2024, 56 Estonian Base Map sheets have been entirely or partially covered with the digital Geological Base Map. The database consists of geophysical (aeromagnetic anomalies), geomorphological (erratic boulders), hydrogeological (springs, karst features), bedrock (stratotypes) and borehole data from the whole country. It also includes digital data obtained during the SedGof mapping project in the Finnish Gulf (1:200 000 bedrock geology, Quaternary deposits, geomorphology, mineral resources, see figure).
