Geological Data Application

Geological maps are shown in two Web Map Applications:

First displays the completed thematic maps of the Geological Base Map.
As of 1 September, 2018, 41 Estonian Base Map sheets have been entirely or partially covered with digital Geological Base Map. The map application presents some geophysical (aeromagnetic anomalies), geomorphological (erratic boulders), bedrock (stratotypes) and borehole data from the whole country. It also shows digital data obtained during the SedGOF mapping project in the Finnish Gulf (1:200 000 bedrock geology, Quaternary deposits, geomorphology, mineral resources). From 2003 to 2017, Estonian Land Board (ELB) was organizing and financing the Geological Base Map project and distributing the mapping data. Since 2018, Estonian Geological Survey is responsible for mapping while the ELB continues to deliver the outcomes.

All features of the Geological Base Map are regulated by the mapping guide (Table 3, names dubbed in English)
Juhend Eesti geoloogiliseks digitaalkaardistamiseks mõõtkavas 1:50 000 (  1.57 MB, 2.02.2015 ) .

1:400 000 geological maps of Quaternary deposits, Bedrock, Basement, Hydrogeology and Groundwater vulnerability cover the whole country.
Author of these maps is Geological Survey of Estonia.
